The announcement of the biography of the Emeritus King has coincided with the publication of his photographs with Bárbara Rey
"Reconciliation" is a word that means restoring relationships. It is an approach after a conflict.
It is also the title that will be given to the memoirs of Juan Carlos I. It is a title with which it seems that the Emeritus King intends to regain "respect" from society regarding his public image.
According to sources consulted by Elcierredigital.com, "the memoirs have already been written and edited." They are expected to be released next year, 2025.
Through the publication of this autobiography, Juan Carlos I aims to tell his own story. Because, as he has emphasized, "he feels that it is being stolen from him." There are many scandals, rumors, and legends that, over the decades, have hovered over Juan Carlos I.
One of them is the affair he had with the vedette Bárbara Rey. It is a relationship that has resurfaced in the news. The Dutch magazine Privé published, exclusively, some previously unseen photographs of Juan Carlos I and Bárbara Rey.
It is a leak for which Ángel Cristo Jr. has "confessed" to being responsible. This publication came just one day after Felipe VI's father announced the publication of the memoirs. It should be remembered that, since this past Monday, Juan Carlos I has been in Sanxenxo where he is scheduled to participate in the regattas that will begin this coming September 27.
But what is Juan Carlos I's intention with the publication of these memoirs?
Memoirs to "Tell His Story"
Juan Carlos I is determined to tell his own story. They are titled "Reconciliation" and he will publish them in French. Specifically, they will be published by the publishing house Stock, part of the Hachette group, as revealed by a well-known French magazine.
"My father, Don Juan de Borbón, always advised me not to write memoirs. Kings do not confess. Even less so in public.

"Their secrets remain buried in the shadows of palaces. Why disobey him today? Why have I finally changed my mind? I have the feeling that my story is being stolen from me," they reveal from the publishing house.
Over 500 pages, the Emeritus King will address some of the most important moments of his life. From his childhood in Spain under Francoism and far from his parents, to his adolescence when 'Juanito' awakened to love.
Also, a difficult period due to the accident he suffered with his brother, Infante Alfonso. The pages of these memoirs will also reveal the crucial moments of his reign. From his ascent to the throne after Franco's death in 1975 to 23-F or his abdication in June 2014.
"He Explains His Mistakes and Bad Decisions"
According to Stock, Juan Carlos I "explains his mistakes and bad decisions. He doesn't hide his regrets. He speaks with an open heart, like someone who knows he doesn't have much time left and prefers to confess rather than lie."
As has emerged, the Emeritus King wrote this autobiography in Abu Dhabi. Juan Carlos I has lived in the capital of the Emirates since August 3, 2020, when he announced his exile through a letter he sent to King Felipe VI.
It was an exile that occurred due to the various corruption scandals that hovered over his image.
The Link with the Foundation That Juan Carlos I Has Created in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is not only the city where Juan Carlos I currently resides. It is also the place where he has created a Foundation with the aim of exalting four decades of reign.
As has emerged, the royalties from Juan Carlos I's memoirs could be used to provide funds for this foundation.
As we reported in Elcierredigital.com, "this foundation would have been created with the fortune he has outside Spain. Its purpose would be for that money to be channeled as an inheritance to his two daughters, Cristina and Elena de Borbón. In fact, this foundation would be under the patronage of the two sisters."
Not of King Felipe VI, who renounced any type of inheritance that could correspond to him from his father. Meanwhile, according to Elcierredigital.com, "there is a good relationship between father and son and harmony. There is a 'non-aggression' pact."
The foundation could take advantage of the lax tax legislation of the United Arab Emirates so that the Emeritus can centralize his fortune outside Spain. This way, ownership and arrangements would not become public.

Its official objective would be to promote social activities. But also the purpose of channeling the money that the Emeritus King has outside Spain. This way, his fortune will be concentrated in this foundation and, when he dies, it will benefit his two daughters.
There are many questions regarding the new foundation. How much money are we talking about? Where is it currently deposited? What is its origin?
These questions have not been answered. "Not doing so is an exercise in lack of transparency and concealment of information, which is of public interest," legal sources explain to our newspaper.
These memoirs will be released in 2025. Memoirs that Juan Carlos I has decided to publish in order to tell his own story. A story marked by rumors, legends, romances, and scandals that returned to the media spotlight this past Wednesday.
