Jaime Anglada's life at risk: Felipe VI and Letizia's friend run over on his motorcycle

The Mallorcan singer Jaime Anglada Avilés (Palma de Mallorca, 1972) is in critical conditionafter being involved in a traffic accident in the Mallorcan capital in the early hours of this Friday. The close friend of  King Felipe was hit by a car that was allegedly driven by a 20-year-old man.

Jaime Anglada, seriously injured

As we mentioned, in the early hours of this Friday, the Mallorcan singer Jaime Anglada is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle.

The accident took place at around 1:30 a.m., near number 330 on Joan Miró Avenue, in the Cala Mayor area. According to health and police sources, the vehicle struck the motorcycle and left the scene, leaving the artist seriously injured on the pavement.

Due to the extreme severity of his injuries, Anglada was urgently transferred to Son Espases University Hospital.

After the alleged perpetrator of the accident fled the scene, several witnesses provided Palma Local Police with the license plate of the car he was driving. It was then that officers located the 20-year-old man, who was arrested at his home.

The friendship between Jaime Anglada and Felipe VI

Jaime Anglada is one of the most well-known musicians from Palma de Mallorca. He is also one of King Felipe VI's closest friends.

They have known each other for more than two decades thanks to their passion for sailing.

Jaime Anglada was born in Mallorca on September 13, 1972. At the age of 8, he discovered music, first with the saxophone and then with the guitar. At 13, he composed his first song, inspired by artists such as Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

At 20, he began playing in bars in Mallorca with his guitar and harmonica. In 1994, he formed his first band and in 1996 released his debut album Dentro de la Noche, produced by Roger Eno, which opened doors for international tours.

This was followed by works such as Empezar de Nuevo, Nunca Tendremos Graceland and Otra Canción de Carretera with more mature lyrics and an extensive tour throughout Spain.
