Important statement from SSA in the US: They'll arrive before you know it
United States Social Security makes it clear which citizens are going to receive their benefits next week: Pay attention
The United States Social Security Administration has issued an urgent statement for millions of beneficiaries. According to the SSA, there are very few days left to get ready. This June, specifically on Wednesday, June 25, the last monthly payment will be made, and it's crucial for recipients to keep this in mind.
SSA explains that June payments will cover those who meet certain conditions, and the dates depend on the day of birth. Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month will receive their benefits on Wednesday, June 25. That is the basic rule, along with others detailed by SSA.

SSA Clarifies June 25 Payments: Who Will Receive Them in the US
All individuals who started collecting after May 1, 1997, receive their benefit on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday. Those born from the 1st to the 10th receive it on the second Wednesday, from the 11th to the 20th on the third, and from the 21st to the 31st on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
In June, this means that the next payment will be on June 25 for those born from the 21st to the 31st. Additionally, SSA reminds that those who began receiving benefits before May 1997, or SSI beneficiaries, have different dates.
The latter already received the payment on May 30, because June 1 was a Sunday and the date was moved up for those who receive assistance such as Supplemental Security Income.
Almost All Payments Today Are via Direct Deposit
To receive the payment, SSA requires that the beneficiary keep their information updated, especially the bank account for electronic transfer. Almost all payments today are via direct deposit, which ensures timely arrival. If it is not received, SSA recommends waiting at least three business days and then contacting the bank or calling the official number.

This June payment is especially important for millions of Americans. Many people depend on that income for basic expenses such as medication, rent, or food. Moving up or delaying this date can disrupt family budgets, which is why SSA emphasizes the dates, conditions, and profile of recipients.
This Is How United States Social Security Explains It
The explanation given by SSA is simple. The schedule is based on the month of birth and is applied each month regularly. For June 2025, the official dates are already on the payment calendar published by SSA on their website.
Additionally, this statement comes after SSA acknowledged that, since January 2025, a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of 2.5% has been applied, which has raised the average benefit to $1,976 for retirees. That typical increase of about $50 a month helps cope with inflation.
