Albert Rivera reinvents himself: he debuts as a concert promoter after his time with Malú
The founder of Ciudadanos combines this task with consulting and teaching after working at the Echeverría law firm
Albert Rivera has spent years frequenting the VIP areas of multiple musical shows and is finally going to dedicate himself professionally to organizing shows through the company Haciendo Malabares AIE, in which he has acquired a stake via Aldaluri SL (an acronym for Albert, the names of his daughters Daniela and Lucía, and the surname Rivera).
The corporate purpose of the Madrid-based company is "the production, execution, distribution, and marketing both nationally and abroad of live performing arts and musical shows."
Haciendo Malabares AIE, according to data recorded in the Mercantile Registry and consulted by Elcierredigital.com, is managed by Rafael González Villanueva, who belongs to a long lineage of professionals connected to the circus world.
The company based in Barajas invoiced €2,479,754 in 2023, obtained profits of €96,345, and has assets above €1.8 million. This company is related to Productores de Sonrisas, owned by González Villanueva and producer of shows such as "Circo de los Horrores," "Manicomio," "Cabaret Maldito," "David Larible," "Navidad Circo Price," and "The Cirkid."
Rivera knows the ins and outs of show organization through his ex, Malú, and his close friend Rafael Cobo, representative of Miguel Poveda (also a close friend of Ciudadanos's founder) and owner of the production company Crazy4fun.
Despite its lack of experience in television, Crazy4fun was hired by RTVE when most of the Partido Popular government depended on Ciudadanos. This company launched the music show "La hora musa," which hired Rivera's then-girlfriend, Beatriz Tajuelo, even though her usual occupation was as a flight attendant. The program was canceled after only 2 seasons.
Neither Chinese Vase Nor Lawyer
Rivera manages, together with his eternal political right-hand man, José Manuel Villegas, the consulting firm RV+, dedicated to "acting as a mediator in the provision of legal and juridical services. The provision of advisory and consulting services to individuals, companies, and organizations of all kinds, in legal, fiscal, labor, economic, and social matters."
RV+ has made headlines for closing an alliance with the Madrid business club Raheem. "At RV+ we're pleased to announce that we've joined forces with Club Raheem GL through a strategic agreement aimed at boosting mutual growth and enriching the quality of the services we provide to our clients and partners respectively," they stated.
Other projects of the former politician after leaving Ciudadanos have included signing the book "Un ciudadano libre" (with which he secured a million-euro contract with Planeta and unsuccessfully tried to make the public believe that it was President Pedro Sánchez who refused to reach an agreement with him in the summer of 2019), joining the digital outlet The Objective (where he has only published two articles in two years), and closing an agreement with the Instituto Universitario de Liderazgo Cardenal Cisneros to direct a Leadership master's program.

Rivera, well connected with figures such as el Turronero, has left the political world behind. After his departure, he already warned that he didn't like "tutelage" nor did he want to become "a Chinese vase" that would bother his successors (even though Inés Arrimadas ended up testifying to the contrary).
"They know I can't stand even a minute supporting things I don't believe in. One can be flexible, lenient, have adaptability, but one must have dignity. When you lose dignity in life, you can't get it back. Honestly, I see everything that's happening and I say: oh my God, thank goodness I resigned!", he remarked.
The lawyer continued criticizing Spanish politics: "This is worse than what we warned about (...) Thank goodness I resigned, because if I had to put up with all this, I'd have to go escorted, but in front of my voters. One can be lenient, but one must have dignity."
Martínez-Echeverría, One of His Great Battles
After the collapse of Ciudadanos, which is heading toward extinction, Rivera has had two major battlegrounds: the tabloid press, which has followed his adventures with Malú or his current partner (the influencer Carla Cotterli), and the influential law firm Martínez-Echeverría.
"We joined with great enthusiasm after leaving politics and the contracts were breached," Rivera stated after it was published that the firm had severed ties with him for absenteeism. He, hurt, sued the firm for breach of contract (since he had been promised 5% of the share capital and bonuses for profits) and his former bosses did the same for disloyal behavior.
Commercial Court number 17 of Madrid recently ruled in favor of Rivera, who was being sued for €1.6 million for launching "a media campaign aimed at promoting his public image and denigrating that of Martínez-Echevarría Abogados, widely and in detail disseminating the very serious contractual breaches he publicly attributes to the firm."
The ruling states that "it can't be considered that attributing contractual breaches is denigrating or offensive to the firm" and that "it can't be considered that the termination (of the contract) was carried out to generate a competitive advantage, to affect the market, or to have an anti-competitive purpose."
"The fact of publicly referring to disagreements arising from a contractual termination doesn't determine that it has an anti-competitive purpose. This is because, primarily, it is considered that the statements made or that could have been made by the defendant are in his own interest, that is, for the purpose of defending his reasons for terminating the contract and his compensation, especially considering the public and reciprocal media attack, not with a competitive purpose," it adds.
Rivera remains silent about this case and moves on to event organization.
