Camilla and King Charles decide to tell the truth: 'Critical moment'

British monarchs, Charles III and Camilla, break their silence and the public in Canada is left stunned

King Charles III delivered a highly significant speech this Tuesday before the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa. In his remarks, the monarch emphasized that Canada is going through a "critical moment," similar to historical periods such as the early years of the Cold War. His address focused on sovereignty, independence, and democratic values that, according to him, Canadians firmly defend.

A speech with clear messages about sovereignty and alliances

Charles III highlighted that democracy, pluralism, the rule of law, self-determination, and freedom are essential values for Canada. "The government is determined to protect them," he stated at the opening of the parliamentary sessions, known as the "Throne Speech."

As head of state of Canada and 13 other Commonwealth countries, the king referred to the current context marked by growing tensions with the United States. The speech was interpreted as a direct response to provocations from Donald Trump, who has suggested on several occasions the possible annexation of Canada to the United States as the 51st state.

Canadian President Mark Carney was responsible for inviting Charles III to deliver this speech. Carney valued the monarch's presence as a symbol of the country's sovereignty. The king drew inspiration from the national anthem, recalling that "the True North is truly strong and free."

Canada facing a changing world

Charles III pointed out that today's world requires new relationships and alliances. He stressed that the relationship with the United States is evolving, while Canada expands its influence on the international stage, strengthening ties with European countries.

"Canada is ready to form a coalition with nations that share similar values, that believe in cooperation and the free exchange of goods and ideas," the British monarch stated. "In this rapidly changing world, Canada is prepared to lead."

This message contrasts with the "America First" policy promoted by Trump, making it clear that Canada is committed to international cooperation and the free market instead of protectionist measures.

Internal challenges and promises of action

The speech also addressed internal problems, such as the housing shortage, an issue the government seeks to solve with concrete plans. Measures were mentioned to strengthen border security, with new laws and tools to combat fentanyl trafficking and other crimes.

The monarch highlighted the intention to "protect sovereignty" through the modernization of the Armed Forces. He also spoke about increasing the police presence to curb theft, burglaries, and illegal trafficking. In economic matters, the goal is to build the strongest economy within the G7, consolidating growth and stability.
