It wasn't Charles III: the real reason why Lady Di left William and Harry's father is revealed
The hidden truth behind Diana of Wales and Charles III's divorce is revealed: Who was truly to blame?
For decades, the story of the divorce between Diana of Wales and Charles III has been the subject of speculation. Most point to Camilla Parker-Bowles, now Queen Camilla, as the main reason. However, an expert close to the princess has revealed a surprising fact that changes the focus of this entire story.
An unexpected confession
Ingrid Seward, biographer and close friend of Diana, recently said that the Princess of Wales confessed to her that Camilla was not the direct cause of the end of her marriage to Charles III. "It wasn't Camilla who ruined our marriage, it was the people around Charles," Seward said Diana told her.

This comment has raised many questions about the role of the prince's circle in the breakup. This is not the first time that people within the Royal Household have been pointed to as responsible for straining the relationship. Even Diana's own father spoke about how complicated that environment was for the couple.
Egos and tensions at Buckingham
Seward emphasized that, after that revelation, she was never able to fully understand what Diana meant. She also raised the question of whether there are only "a bunch of inflated egos" in the Palace or if there are actually people trying to help. In any case, it seems clear that the influence of the royal circle was decisive in the story between Charles III and Diana.

Public opinion was always focused on Camilla and the famous phrase from Diana during her BBC interview: "There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded." That statement shaped the narrative for years, but now another perspective is opening up.
The divorce process and its consequences
On December 9, 1992, Prime Minister John Major announced in the House of Commons the official separation of the Princes of Wales, after eleven years of marriage. It was not until December 1995, after Diana's famous interview, that Buckingham Palace pressured Charles III to file for divorce.

The breakup was formalized on August 28, 1996. Diana, aided by legal counsel, asked to keep her title of princess, her residence at Kensington Palace, and an active role in her children's education. It was confirmed that the financial settlement reached was £15 million.
After this, Charles III was free to formalize his relationship with Camilla, who would become his wife in 2005. Diana never got to see that stage, as she tragically died in 1997, leaving behind a story that still sparks debate today.
