Changes within the Spanish Royal Household keep coming. The latest has been the departure of Jordi Gutiérrez Roldán (Barcelona, 1959) as director of the Royal Household's Communications Department, as exclusively reported by Elcierredigital.com. The position left by the Barcelona-born communicator will be filled by journalist Rosa Lerchundi Ariceta (San Sebastián, 1965), who has so far served as head of national news at Telecinco's news programs.

It is worth noting that the Catalan communicator was one of Queen Letizia's closest figures. He was also one of the "trusted men" of what is known as the "camarilla" of King Felipe VI's wife.

He did so when diplomat Camilo Villarino completed one year as head of the Royal Household, in which, according to sources close to the monarchy cited by Elcierredigital.com, "Villarino has undertaken a restructuring."

According to our newspaper, "one of the changes Camilo Villarino wanted to make was to dismiss Jordi Gutiérrez Roldán." Since 2014, Gutiérrez Roldán had been leading the Zarzuela's Communications Department.

After leaving the Royal Household in December 2009, Jordi Gutiérrez returned to the Zarzuela Palace. This happened at a very significant moment, as in June 2014, Felipe VI and Letizia ascended to the throne after Juan Carlos I's abdication.

Since then, the Catalan became one of Queen Letizia's closest figures and "trusted men." This circumstance, according to sources close to the monarchy cited by Elcierredigital.com, "the queen would have refused to accept Gutiérrez Roldán's departure."

It is known that Jordi Gutiérrez was born in 1959 in Barcelona. He earned a degree in information sciences from the Autonomous University of the Ciudad Condal. He began his professional career during the Transition. Specifically, in 1977. He specialized in the political and institutional area.
