Verizon confirms the most anticipated news to all its subscribers.
The American telecommunications giant gives the good news to its customers in the United States
Verizon has positioned itself as an essential pillar to keep its customers connected during natural disasters like hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes. Its resilient network and a specialized emergency team are always ready to support communities and public safety agencies in the most critical moments.
Prepared for the Unpredictable
Joe Russo, Executive Vice President of Global Networks and Technology, showed his commitment to customer service in his statements. "We understand the essential role of connectivity in our customers' lives and work year-round to ensure the network is ready to face any bad weather."

The company has a network that covers 99% of the places where the population in the United States lives and works. It has stations equipped with backup batteries and mobile generators that ensure service even when there are power outages.
Technology and Personnel at the Forefront
Verizon has nearly 3,000 network units and satellites ready to deploy and operate in affected areas, serving as mobile stations and temporary command centers. Engineers and technicians specialized in hazardous materials management and disaster management are trained to act quickly in emergencies. Additionally, the Global Event Management Center monitors weather conditions 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to anticipate possible risks and coordinate recovery operations.

This constant monitoring is key to mitigating damage and keeping the network operational. Satellite backup is another crucial element. In case of interruptions in cellular networks, customers with compatible devices can send messages via satellite, ensuring constant communication with family and emergency services.
Vital Support for First Responders
The Verizon Frontline Crisis Response team, composed of former first responders and military personnel, offers support at no cost to public safety agencies during severe weather events. During the past year, it attended to more than 1,500 support requests in 46 states, and so far in 2025, it has already replied to nearly 400 demands. Verizon Frontline installs portable base stations, Wi-Fi points, and charging stations to facilitate communication for first responders.
This way, it improves efficiency in rescue and assistance operations. Recently, Verizon launched Verizon Frontline Network Slice, a dedicated portion of the 5G Ultra Wideband network exclusively for public safety. This technology offers enhanced capacity and performance, essential for the critical missions of emergency teams.

Commitment to Community Preparedness
Verizon promotes projects to help communities prepare, respond, and recover from natural disasters. In collaboration with the startup Hyfi, it has implemented flood sensors that work with the 5G network and provide real-time data to manage risks in cities like New Orleans.
The Disaster Resilience Prize, in partnership with MIT Solve, encourages the development of technologies that reduce the impact of natural catastrophes. Additionally, in conjunction with United Way and Habitat for Humanity, Verizon conducts workshops and provides support in 15 cities to improve resilience to emergencies.
Verizon stores, distributed throughout the United States, are always ready to advise and support all their customers in the preparation and recovery from adverse weather events. Updated information on hours and services is available on their website and mobile app.
