Sam's Club and Walmart Confirm a Controversial Change: It's Going to Cost You Money
American Giants Establish New Regulations in the United States That Cause a Huge Stir
Walmart and Sam's Club have decided to take firm measures to improve the availability of their parking lots. Starting May 1, the Keeaumoku branch in Honolulu will be the first to implement financial penalties for those who exceed the allowed time. This strategy aims to ensure that the spaces are used exclusively by active customers, preventing the place from becoming a free parking lot for any other activity.
New Rules in the Parking Lot
Walmart and Sam's Club customers in Keeaumoku will be entitled to three free hours of parking. After exceeding that limit, they will have to pay three dollars for each additional half hour. This translates to a charge of six dollars per hour, with a maximum of up to 48 dollars for staying a full day.

The measure seeks to discourage the improper use of the parking lot, ensuring that the spaces are available for those who are truly going to shop. The goal is clear: to improve the customer experience and prevent outsiders from saturating the available spots.
A Stricter Control System
To enforce this new policy, Walmart has hired Secure Parking Hawaii. This company will manage the parking lot through a camera system that will capture the license plates of vehicles upon entering and exiting. This way, the exact time each car remains in the place will be recorded, allowing for accurate billing of the corresponding fees.
Automatic machines are planned to be installed soon to facilitate parking payment, allowing users to manage their stay quickly and very easily. Additionally, those who accumulate parking debts could face more severe penalties, such as having their vehicle towed.

A Measure to Protect Shoppers
This strong tightening of parking policies reflects the true need to protect customers who genuinely use Walmart and Sam's Club for their shopping. With the implementation of these fees, Walmart and Sam's Club hope to deter those who are only looking for a free place to park while conducting other activities in the area.
This new strategy not only seeks to optimize the use of space but also to offer a better shopping experience, ensuring that parking spaces are available when customers need them most. If the measure is successful in Keeaumoku, it is not ruled out that Walmart will extend the system to other branches in the United States in the future. Although the measure has caused shock among customers, many appreciate it because it makes it easier for them to find parking easily.
