Kohl's issues an urgent statement in the United States: notice to all its customers

The American giant issues an important warning to consumers: product withdrawn

Kohl's has announced the withdrawal of a product that may pose a significant safety risk to its customers in the United States. The product in question is the St. Nicholas Square tealight candleholders, which have presented a real fire hazard. The decision comes in response to reports that alerted about this issue and aims to protect consumers.

Product at risk: features and scope

These candleholders, designed in the shape of a Christmas tree, are made of plastic and hold up to six small tealights. Their design includes a gold star at the top and a green garland with red berries at the base, details that make them very attractive for Christmas decoration. Kohl's sold them from September 2024 to April 2025 in their physical stores and online for about $25 each.

About 1,960 units are being withdrawn from the market after receiving two reports of fires linked to these candleholders. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the risk of fire and burns led Kohl's to take immediate action to prevent more serious incidents.

What should consumers do?

The main recommendation is to stop using the candleholders immediately. Kohl's is asking those who purchased them to return them to any store in the chain. Consumers will receive a full refund, either in the original form of payment or through a Kohl's gift card.

For customers who purchased the product online, the company offers a prepaid shipping label to facilitate the return at no additional cost. In addition, Kohl's has initiated direct contact with registered buyers to inform them about the withdrawal and the steps to follow.

Additional information and support

These products were imported by Kohl's Inc., based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and manufactured in China. The accelerated withdrawal carries the number 25-246 and has been active since May 1, 2025.

Interested consumers can obtain more information by calling the toll-free number 855-564-5705, available Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time in the United States. They can also consult details on Kohl's official website, in the section dedicated to product withdrawals.

Consumer protection: an essential commitment

This type of withdrawal shows the importance that consumer protection has today. User safety must be a clear priority for all companies that market products, especially those that may pose risks to their physical integrity. Strict compliance with regulations is essential to prevent accidents and guarantee public trust.

Companies that do not meet safety standards may face multimillion-dollar penalties, damage to their reputation, and loss of customers. That's why quick actions like Kohl's not only prevent possible accidents but also reflect their commitment to responsibility and the well-being of their consumers.
