Important statement from SSA and US government about these payments: keep it in mind
Millions of Americans are waiting for a new payment to arrive in just a few days: It is confirmed by the SSA
The Social Security Administration (SSA) and the United States Government have confirmed that millions of people who receive SSI will get their next payment in a few days. This is a key day for those who depend on this financial assistance.
Social Security in the United States distributes different benefits depending on the type of assistance. SSI is a program designed for people with limited resources, older adults, and people with disabilities.

The SSA Confirms the Payment: Only a Few Days Left, It Will Be in July
This benefit is paid on the first day of each month, as will happen on the upcoming July 1 with SSI, unless that day falls on a weekend or holiday. In June, the payment corresponding to June 1 was moved up to May 30, since the first day fell on a Sunday.
Therefore, there was no payment on June 1, but on May 30, which creates a "gap of days" between payments in that month. To avoid this situation, the next payment will be on Tuesday, July 1, as confirmed by the SSA along with the Government.
There are approximately 7.4 million Americans who receive SSI, including people over 65 years old, adults with disabilities, and children who are eligible based on economic criteria. The maximum federal amount for 2025 is $967 per month for individuals and $1,450 for couples, based on the 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment.
Importance of the July 1 Payment: Take Note
This July 1 disbursement is crucial because it marks the beginning of July for many households living with limited resources. A delay or an error in the date can cause serious problems paying rent, medicines, or essential services. For this reason, the SSA always ensures that if the first day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment is moved up to the last business Friday of the previous month.

The Government also adjusts the dates of regular benefits (retirement, disability, survivor) to prevent them from coinciding with holidays. In July 2025, for example, retirement payments will be made on July 9, 16, and 23, depending on the beneficiary's birth date, and July 3 will be for those who have been receiving payments since before May 1997.
What You Should Keep in Mind, According to the SSA
It is essential for beneficiaries to check whether their payment comes by direct deposit or paper check. Starting in July, the SSA is promoting the use of direct deposit or the Direct Express card, since the sending of paper checks will be reduced to prevent fraud, losses, or delays.
In addition, if you do not see your payment after three business days, the SSA recommends first checking with your bank and, if it still doesn't appear, contacting 1‑800‑772‑1213 for clarification.
