Be very careful: Kroger and Walmart confirm a serious problem in the United States
Kroger and Walmart alert their customers about an unexpected issue affecting products sold nationwide
Kroger and Walmart are two of the largest supermarket chains in the United States, known for their affordable prices and wide variety of products. With thousands of locations across the country, these stores have earned consumers' trust by offering products at accessible prices. From fresh foods to household items, both giants have managed to keep ahead in the market.
Both stores are now at the center of attention due to a food safety issue. This alert involves a variety of food products. A recent announcement has put everyone who usually shops at these stores on alert.

Kroger and Walmart Product Recall: The Health Warning
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has confirmed an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes. It is associated with several chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals that were sold at Kroger and Walmart. These products, under the Marketside brand at Walmart and Home Chef at Kroger, were recalled after the dangerous bacteria was detected in their contents.
Listeria outbreaks have affected 17 people in 13 states, with serious consequences, including three deaths and one fetal loss. FSIS has indicated that the affected products include chicken fettuccine Alfredo trays, with expiration dates close to June 19 and June 27, 2025.
These prepared meals, distributed by FreshRealm, were sold nationwide, which increases authorities' concern. FSIS has recommended that consumers not eat these products, return them to the stores, or discard them immediately.

Food Safety Measures and Precautions When Buying Prepared Foods
To protect themselves, FSIS has also provided some recommendations on how to handle prepared foods in general. It is essential that products be cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to ensure that any bacteria are eliminated. Using a food thermometer is the only reliable way to confirm that products have reached the proper temperature to be consumed.
The Listeria outbreak highlights the importance of paying attention to food safety recommendations and following instructions on how to handle products correctly. Although supermarkets are taking appropriate measures by recalling the affected products, consumers' responsibility is also crucial to keep public health throughout the country.
