My name is Alberto, and I was born in Granada in June 1999. Since I was a child, I’ve been passionate about music. My first dream was to be a Blues guitarist in the style of Eric Clapton or Stevie Ray Vaughan, although my favorite artist is Bob Dylan. My parents gave me my first guitar in 2006, and I still keep it. Since then, I have never stopped learning in a self-taught way. At the same time, I attended the Experimental Music School of Granada for several years. My other hobbies include writing, history, and politics, especially the field of geopolitics and international relations.

For this reason, I studied Journalism at the University of Málaga in 2017, although another of my aspirations has always been Art History. I graduated in 2021 after four years that completely changed my life. In the capital of the Costa del Sol, I worked as an intern at the news agency Málaga Actualidad during the worst months of the Covid-19 pandemic. There, I developed many of my communication skills and faced completely new situations, which taught me a lot. As a final step in my time in Málaga, I presented my Bachelor's Thesis titled ‘The informational profile of ISIS in the major mainstream media in Spain after the fall of the Caliphate’.

Upon returning to Granada in 2021, I began working as a tour guide in English and French, as I have a B2 level in both languages certified by Cambridge and the Alianza Francesa, respectively. The experience helped me gain fluency in these languages and rediscover the history and culture of my city. After a year of saving money and considering my future options, I decided to pursue one of my dreams: becoming an international journalist.

This dream brought me to Madrid in September 2022, and I’m still here. I studied the Master's in International Journalism at the Rey Juan Carlos University in the capital. As part of my curricular internship, I joined the team at El Cierre Digital at the end of May 2023. I now work as the weekend editor, covering current affairs on various topics, although my favorite subjects prevail: International, Geopolitics, and Economics.

Within these sections, I have investigated cases of alleged corruption in several city councils, as well as closely followed the social crisis in Latin America caused by violence linked to drug trafficking. On the other hand, I have been responsible for analyzing and profiling several of the world’s largest entrepreneurs.
