The truth about Iñaki Urdangarin's new business: a brand that'll invoice as a freelancer

The former Duke of Palma keeps a good relationship with his family circle while registering the Bevolutive brand to invoice as a freelancer

Iñaki Urdangarin (Gipuzkoa, 1968) has spoken publicly again after his time in prison and his divorce from Infanta Cristina. The beginning of the decade started to be complicated, but the former national handball star seems to be making a comeback. In fact, he already has his own coaching brand called Bevolutive.

After both events, Urdangarin has smoothed things over with family members and close friends. Sources close to his circle told elcierredigital.com that "the former Duke of Palma keeps a proper relationship with Infanta Cristina. He is perfectly fine with his children and has the support of King Juan Carlos, moreover, they have reportedly become very close."

Something he seems to be clear about is wanting to disappear from all the media noise. To focus on his development, while in prison he studied for a master's degree in coaching psychology and emotional well-being.

Now, it is in this sector that he has decided to base his future through Bevolutive. This may seem like a company, but it is actually a commercial brand. This will allow Urdangarin to have less public notoriety, since self-employed accounts, as in this case, are not public.

The New Business of Iñaki Urdangarin

To understand Urdangarin's current situation, it is necessary to go back to the moment of the divorce from Infanta Cristina. The decision to separate was released in January 2022, but it was in December 2023 when the divorce was signed in Barcelona.

Once the divorce was signed, "he wants a new opportunity and to become great. His intention is to be an advisor to athletes and other companies. He is excited to reinvent himself and have another opportunity, and that's why he called the brand 'Be evolutive,' which in Spanish means 'Be evolutive,'" the consulted sources add.

At elcierredigital.com we already reported that since Urdangarin left prison, he was allegedly paid through consulting and has been invoicing as a self-employed worker. This outlet already reported that he could be invoicing as a self-employed worker for reports to certain major companies, including some from the IBEX.

It should not be forgotten that in the divorce agreement with Infanta Cristina, he demanded a job. Therefore, it was considered that as a self-employed worker he would provide consulting. Currently, the former Duke of Palma doesn't have any company in his name in Spain. In fact, all the positions where he appeared have been terminated.

Returning to his current brand, it is Iñaki Urdangarin himself—and not a company—who appears as the holder in Bevolutive's legal notice. This new brand was filed with the Patent and Trademark Office on March 25, 2005, with its registered office in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Currently, the status of the patent application is being processed and the service offered is coaching and training.

Therefore, sources close to Urdangarin's circle observe that "the fact that he gave this interview is not a coincidence. The Bevolutive brand already appeared on LinkedIn and had a website, so Urdangarin decided to give the interview to make a controlled explosion."

"A company appears in the Commercial Registry and its annual accounts can be accessed. However, as a self-employed worker, the only controller is the Tax Agency and no journalist or citizen can access Urdangarin's accounts. Therefore, only the Tax Agency will know what Urdangarin is going to earn and he will be able to invoice whoever he wants," the consulted sources explain.

"His method for invoicing is Bevolutive, which is not a company, but a commercial brand. He would already have some clients in the logistics and technology sectors, sectors that have nothing to do with sports," the sources add.
