France reveals the truth about King Haakon and Mette-Marit's son: official

In Norway, the youngest son of Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, Sverre Magnus, has just carried out his first solo engagement with great success. On May 27, Sverre Magnus welcomed Norwegian athletes and all the staff who participated in the Special Olympics World Games in Turin at an official reception. The young prince's presence was described as confident and natural. "He was smiling and talkative, and said he was happy to be here," Norwegian media reported.

The young man admitted to addiction problems and underwent treatment at a specialized clinic in London. Family members have acknowledged that they're going through a difficult time; Princess Mette-Marit herself commented that "it's been very, very hard for us."

Mette-Marit's Health Also Raises Concerns

In addition to the family crisis, Mette-Marit is suffering a worsening of her chronic lung disease and this problem has forced her to cancel several public appearances. In March, the palace confirmed that the princess is experiencing "daily symptoms and ailments" that affect her official duties. "She needs more rest and her daily routine is changing more quickly than before," they noted.
